Charlotte
Bossi,
81, died March 10 at ManorCare Health Services of Urbana. She worked
as a nurse at McKinley Health Center and then became the medical
record librarian in charge of the medical record department. She
retired in 1984 after 29 years of service.
R. Benjamin Garrison, 75, died
Feb. 24 in Lincoln, Neb. He was a visiting lecturer in the Program
for the Study of Religion in the fall of 1974. Memorials: R. Benjamin
Garrison Scholarship, Drew University, in care of Alumni House,
36 Madison Ave., Madison, NJ 07940.
Wilma Rochelle Grein, 82, died
March 2 at her Urbana home. She worked as a maid from 1959 until
1979. Memorials: Kingswood Christian School, Urbana or Crusaders
Church, Urbana.
James L. Lustig, 73, died March 7 at Heartland Christian Village,
Neoga. Lustig worked for the UI fire department from 1948 until
1952. Memorials: Salvation Army.
William P. McLure, 91, died
March 9 at Mercy Hospital, Iowa City. In 1948, he became a faculty
member of the College of Education. In 1951, he became director
of the Bureau of Education Research, a position he held until he
retired in 1979.
McKinley Rector, 83, died at
the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Jackson, Miss. He worked
as a kitchen laborer in the Housing Division from 1967 until he
retired in 1986.
Edward E. Wascher, 92, died
March 7 at ManorCare of Champaign. He was an electronics technician
at the UI physics lab from 1948 until he retired in 1975. Memorials:
Octave Chanute Aerospace Museum Foundation.
Robert F. Wolf, 76, died March
12 at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana. Wolf worked as an
agricultural gardener in the agronomy department from 1966 until
he retired in 1987. Memorials: St. Thomas School, Philo.
John W. "Bill" Yauk, 62,
died March 11 at the Carle Arbours, Savoy. He was an extra help
usher at Assembly Hall from 1975 until 1991. |
