2002 Campus Charitable Fund Drive Insert:
U&I Partners for a Caring Community

Dear Colleagues:

Each year, the chancellor writes a letter about the Campus Charitable Fund Drive, to thank you for your previous support and to urge you to be generous. This year, it is especially meaningful to thank you for your generosity. The economic slowdown has affected our community, and your gifts have helped the most vulnerable among us. This year, it is more difficult to ask you to give, because most of us will not be getting increases this year and family expenses will still be going up. Yet this is the time when our community needs us the most.

The Campus Charitable Fund Drive supports many community services and charities that care for the neediest citizens of Champaign-Urbana and improve the quality of life for us all. Some organizations lift their horizons to the wider communities of this country or the world. Please look through the campaign materials, identify the organization(s) you wish to support, and be as generous as you can. Our contributions will combine to become a major contributor for building our community and strengthening the bonds between this campus and its neighbors.

Thank you again for your continuing generosity and support of this vital program.
