CHAMPAIGN,
Ill. — In anticipation of the Oct. 7 Monday night Chicago Bears
football game against the Green Bay Packers beginning at 8 p.m. at Memorial
Stadium, the campus has issued guidelines regarding street closures,
parking and campus hours for game day.
"While we don’t anticipate traffic delays at the start of
the day, even with the early morning closure of Kirby Avenue, we do
expect a high level of congestion at the end of the workday as more
and more fans begin to arrive," said Charles Colbert, vice chancellor
for administration and human resources. "Please allow some extra
time when leaving the campus that evening. We all should keep in mind
that this is a great opportunity to showcase our campus and community
nationwide."
The guidelines:
Street closures
Kirby Avenue will be closed to traffic between First and Fourth streets
from 6 a.m. to midnight.
Peabody Drive will be closed to traffic between First and Fourth streets
from 3:15 p.m. until midnight.

to their regular parking facilities.
